"Shippo Cloisonné"

Shippo Cloisonné is an old enamel technique perfected in Japan. It is a technique whereby fine silver strips are applied to copper to form a design. Within these lines, enamel in different colours is repeatedly poured, until the desired shade is achieved. It is then fired and finally polished many times. Hella has long held a desire to do "something" with this technique. It is a technique that is completely compatible with her way of working. Hella designs on the basis of a tradition, researches the history of a product, gives it a twist and thus creates something "new". This is what makes her designs so interesting.
Hella has designed 5 enamel bowls for our sister company in Tokyo, Cibone. We are proud to be able to present these to you now. And to celebrate this fact, we would like to invite you to drink a glass of wine with us, at the

Opening

From 5 > 7.30 p.m.

You are more than welcome.

Hella Jongerius; "Shippo Cloisonné"

These 5 bowls were designed as part of the Japanese Arts & Craft Project. An initiative by Cibone, Tokyo, in cooperation with The Frozen Fountain. The bowls were produced by Ando Shippo Crafts (1880) Japan

Scholten & Baijings: "Woven Willows"

A wonderful design for T.E. Editions by Stefan Scholten and Carole Baijings. These 5 objects are made of woven willow. A technique dating from the 17th century, and still practised exclusively by fine weaver Esmé Hofman. Willow twigs are split into three pieces, then planed into strands of 1 to 2 mm. These are then moistened, allowing them to be woven into a textile. Both the material and the pattern inspired Stefan and Carole to use different materials. This is why moulds were also created using this material. The glass blower Bernard Heesen then used this to blow the carafe "Grand Bernard" and the "Tape Bowl".

Piet Hein Eek

During this opening, we will be showing all manner of new products. Such as the range of cupboards by Zanotta and the sofa "SuperOblong" by designer Jasper Morrison for Cappellini. We will however be lavishing particular attention on the new desk by Piet Hein Eek. Electrically adjustable if required, in a pure design; typically Piet Hein Eek. This one is a prototype, so the price and delivery time are not yet known.

"Message in a bottle", "Neau"

"Neau", "world water for world citizens" is a good project. These empty "Neau" bottles can be refilled over and over again with our own, very healthy, tap water. With the income from "Neau", drinking water projects can then be financed in developing countries. A good idea; clear as clean water should be. We decided this is an aim worth supporting.
€ 2.50 per bottle.
